Finally, after $150 and 2 hours of installation, the upgrade failed, saying that my computer did not have the appropriate hardware. The Vista Upgrade Advisor says Ultimate is the software for my computer. System is a Gateway MT3705 laptop. Any ideas?

I know that the 32-bit Vista supports only 3GB of memory. Should I remove the readyboost and/or the additional 2GB of memory and try again? There is something about your hardware that vista doesn't like. -Dave You should have run the Vista Upgrade Advisor, that's what it is for.
